(1) Response to group infection risks in classrooms, etc.
With the new coronavirus infection, it is said that the risk of group infection increases in places where the "3C", three conditions (1.closed spaces with poor ventilation, 2.crowded places, 3.close contact settings that make close-range conversations difficult to avoid) coincide.
At the meeting of the Japanese government, the following are listed as "five situations" where the risk of infection increases.
Social gatherings with drinking
Large number of people and long-term eating and drinking
Conversation without a mask
Communal living in a small space
Movement of place (break time, etc.) Based on the above, please do not have a conversation without a mask in the class.
① Avoiding "closed spaces" (thorough ventilation)
Please keep in mind to open windows and operate the ventilation system regularly according to the contents of the experiment and the situation of the facilities and equipment.
Each classroom is automatically ventilated following Japanese law, but please conduct ventilation from two directions.
In addition, in 2021, we will implement flexible air-conditioning operation in consideration of the health of teachers and students. (measures against heat stroke and cold).
② Avoiding "crowded places" (keep a physical distance)
In the "new lifestyle", it is recommended to keep a distance of 2 meters (minimum 1 meter) from people as much as possible.
It is important to keep as much physical distance as possible even in areas where the infection has converged. Therefore, please try to secure the interpersonal distance by increasing the space between seats and limiting the number of people who can enter the room at the same time.
In addition, according to the manual of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology dated September 3, 2020, it is important to avoid "3C". And if a distance of 1 meter cannot be kept due to restrictions on facilities, etc., keep the distance as far as possible, provide sufficient ventilation, and wear a mask. According to this manual, the maximum number of students who can take each class is about 70% of the capacity of the classroom.
③ Correspondence to "closed contact" scenes (wearing a mask)
In some experiments, practical training, and seminars, sometimes it is necessary to have conversations at short distances, so students and teachers in charge of classes should always wear masks to prevent droplets.
In addition to wearing a mask, please take measures such as wearing a face shield and shielding with an acrylic plate, transparent vinyl curtain, etc. as necessary. However, when wearing a mask, avoid heavy work and keep in mind that you drink water frequently, even if you are not thirsty.
If you judge that the risk of heatstroke is high, temporarily remove the student's mask and take a break. We are informing students to wear masks inside the building and even outside the building when talking to people. Non-woven masks are distributed to students who have forgotten their masks at the Academic Affairs Division.
(2) Hand washing
Wash your hands with water and soap for about 30 seconds.
In addition, ethanol for disinfection is installed at the entrance and exit of the facility, so be sure to disinfect your hands.
(3) Practice of "cough etiquette"
When coughing or sneezing, use a mask, tissue or handkerchief, sleeves, or the inside of your elbows to hold your mouth and nose down so that the infection does not spread to others.
(4) Disinfection of instruments and tools for experiments
When the experiment or practical training is completed, please disinfect the instruments and tools which have been used.
Also, use a disinfectant to wipe areas that are frequently touched by many students (doorknobs, railings, switches, etc.).
(5) Please follow the usage rules for locker rooms
For classes that require the use of locker rooms, there is a maximum capacity for the locker rooms. Students will be required to change quickly without talking.
(6) Utilization of office supplies for droplets prevention
An acrylic board is installed in front of the podium as a measure to prevent droplets. When conducting group work, please wear a non-woven mask that is highly effective in preventing droplets and keep a physical distance.
(7) Record of student's behavior
Please be prepared to trace the infection route in case of emergency, such as keeping a record of student behavior while paying close attention to the handling of personal information.
(8) Office hours
For individual communication with students such as during "office hours", please wear a mask and pay attention to ventilation, and keep a distance from the students.
(9) Building an environment where students who are in poor physical condition can take rest easily
If students feel unwell, such as they have a cold, please inform them that they don't need to overdo it and absent from the class.
Also, please consider measures such as imposing home assignments by kibaco.
(10) Consideration for students who are worried about infection
Please provide as much environment as possible to attend classes online for students who are worried about infection, such as those with underlying illness or elderly people living together.
